A Cape Cod Kitchen Dream
If you live in New England, there's a good chance that having a summer home on Cape Cod is a dream. And this recent Cape home remodel we completed last fall is truly the stuff dreams are made of. The home was in a beautiful spot in Dennis, but needed an interior facelift to match. While we renovated the four bathrooms in the home, too, it was the kitchen that transformed the feel of the space. The homeowner wanted a look that reflected the home's seaside locale and something that offered a contemporary take on a traditional design. Function was also essential--after all, if there were ever a home meant for entertaining a crowd, it's one on Cape Cod.
Take a tour, and let the daydreams commence:
Custom cabinetry set the design scheme for the space. The blue-gray color is a nod to the nautical.
Carriage-style lanterns feel traditional, but the on-trend brass finish, designed to complement the hardware, keeps the look contemporary.
The floorpan of the antique home was opened up to both the dining and living areas, creating the perfect space for entertaining.
The refrigerator was paneled in the same cabinetry as the rest of the space to create a seamless look.
A Thermador range is the ultimate workhorse in a space that's all about food and family.
For maximum efficiency and added storage space, a butler pantry was outfitted with built-in appliance storage, a wine rack, and a prep sink.
Last but not least, a large center island serves as a breakfast bar, additional drawer space, and an inconspicuous spot for the microwave.
Can't you just imagine spending a summer in this gorgeous space?
