A Pop of Color: Bright & Beautiful Kitchen Design Ideas
All white spaces have been the big trend in kitchen design over the last few years. And while we love the clean, timeless look of white-on-white, it's also fun and refreshing to see kitchens infused with the occasional pop of color. Color adds personality and uniqueness to a space that neutral tones can sometimes lack, but it also takes a commitment that white kitchens don't necessarily require -- you have to be sure you're not going to get sick of the hues you choose. Luckily, there are some beautiful bright kitchen design ideas out there that it'd be hard not to love for years to come. Here, a few of our favorites. Opposites attract. We love the juxtaposition of the bright, cheerful cabinetry and appliances against the classic shiplap walls and rustic beam-style ceiling. It's unexpected, but somehow works perfectly.
Bright spot. A single pop of color can be all it takes to completely transform a space. Here, red lacquered stools highlight the red knobs on the range, creating a bold, but low-commitment look that can be easily changed around over the years.
Half-and-half. Painting only the lower cabinetry in a bright hue is a perfect compromise: it kicks an all-white space up a notch, but still feels clean and classic thanks to the white cabinets up top.
Make a statement. How happy does this kitchen feel? Not only are the cabinets a gorgeous shade of kelly green, but the utensils and kitchen tools on the open shelving look like they've been carefully curated to complement the bright space.
Bold in Back. This is a great idea for those looking to add color to an existing kitchen without changing the cabinetry. Swap out a plain backsplash for multicolored subway tile for a unique, modern update.
