We love spring in Boston for a whole host of reasons. Of course, there are the obvious things, like better weather, blooming flowers, and the start of the Red Sox season, but it's also one of our favorite times of year for an entirely different reason, too: Spring is when some of the city's best home and design events take place. Whether you're a fellow design aficionado, you love nothing more than scouring a world-class flea market, or you're simply looking for inspiration for your home decor, you'll want to mark your calendars for these top happenings.

CraftBoston Spring Show, April 29-May 1, 2016.CraftBoston takes place each spring, drawing more than 90 local craftsman, artists and artisans to The Cyclorama in the city's quintessential South End neighborhood. While the show is intimate, the variety you'll find among exhibitors is wide: expect to see everything from ceramics, to handmade baskets, to works on paper, and jewelry (It's also the perfect place to pick up a unique, last-minute Mother's Day gift!).

Brimfield Antiques Market, May 10-15, 2016. If you live in the New England area and consider yourself a decor enthusiast, there's a good chance you've had Brimfield's opening weekend marked on your calendar for months. The world-renowned show is about a 90-minute drive from Boston, but well worth it. You'll find more than a half mile of fields where upwards of 5,000 vendors sell antique and vintage furniture, decor, art, books, and much more. If it's your first visit, we'll offer you one piece of advice: The earlier you go, the better.

South End Open Market, weekends, May-October 2016. Opening day for the 2016 South End Open Market (formerly SOWA), is Sunday, May 1. While we love the food trucks and farmer's market stands that dot this popular weekend event, our favorite aspect is the arts market which draws more than 130 local vendors selling everything from art prints, to handmade decor, and artisanal soaps and candles.
