The Top Kitchen Hardware Trends of 2016
Like all other elements in kitchen design, kitchen cabinetry hardware experiences trend cycles every few years. New styles come into fashion, and old ones become dated. Unlike many other kitchen elements, however, kitchen hardware is easy and fairly inexpensive to replace, meaning that if your kitchen needs a quick facelift, replacing the knobs and drawer pulls on your cabinetry is often one of the easiest, cheapest, and most effective strategies. So what's in style this year? Here, we're rounding up the top kitchen hardware trends of 2016.
Brass. Perhaps the biggest look of the year: brass hardware. After decades of chrome, brushed nickel, iron, and bronze pulls, this year is all about glistening gold tones. We love the way brass hardware warms up kitchen design and adds an instant sense of elegance. Opt for brushed styles in simple shapes to ensure an of-the-moment look.
Cup Pulls. Cup-style drawer pulls have seen a rise in popularity over the last few years thanks to the omnipresence of the industrial look. Cup-pulls have a mechanical, rustic feel that adds an industrial, on-trend element to traditional or farmhouse-style kitchens.
Minimalist hardware. Overall, there's a turn toward minimalism and clean lines in hardware design lately. Gone are the days of ornamental detail and intricate forms, and here to stay are knobs and pulls that are sleek and streamlined. We love the look for modern and classic kitchen design alike.
