Before & After: An Upgraded Kitchen Design in Weston, Massachusetts

Functionality might be the most important element of kitchen design, but it isn't the only one. As much as a kitchen needs to work well, in order to truly enjoy it it helps to like the way it looks, too. Such was the case in this next kitchen design in Weston. The original space was big, it had quality appliances and the cabinetry was in good shape. What the kitchen lacked, however, was a style that suited the new owner's taste. The space was definitely on the traditional side, while the homeowners described their taste as contemporary, and wanted a kitchen that matched their modern furniture collection. Here are a few of the before shots of the space.

To meet the homeowner's needs, we drew up a sleek, clean lined, high-tech space that felt chic and cutting edge. The finished result is a 180 degree turn from the previous design.

Bright white upper cabinets and countertops and a shiny glass backsplash created a luminous, bright feel.

Gray lower cabinetry added contrast and a modern twist.

Miele German appliances ensure the kitchen is outfitted with the latest cooking technology.

The windows are by Menck, also of German design, but manufactured in Massachusetts.

Finally, we added in contemporary touches, like barstools in a crisp shade of chartreuse that complemented the backsplash and added a pop of color to the room design.
