Kitchen Tour: A Modern Kitchen Renovation in Newton
Today we're going to take you on a tour of one of our favorite projects we've done recently, a unique, modern kitchen renovation in Newton. While the home itself is a historic victorian, the homeowner was after both form and function that were much more present day for their kitchen space. Take the tour, below!
To give the client a modern space that also felt appropriate with the classic architecture in the home, we chose Shaker-style cabinetry with sleek hardware, plus an all-white color palette paired with black trim and wood-tone accents.
Brass light fixtures add an organic balance to the streamlined space, while also creating a stylish focal point for the room.
In the adjacent dining area, a reclaimed dining table brings a sense of warmth to the space.
As for function, the homeowner was after high-performance, installing a stainless steel Thermador professional range and range hood.
Storage space was also a priority, and cabinets and drawers were designed for easy organization and maximum efficiency.
Echoing the efficient design plan, the main sink doubles as a prep sink with the addition of a butcher's block cutting board.
The final result: A sophisticated, modern space that still managed to acknowledge the history of the home.
