Before & After: A Suburban Boston Home Renovation
We love showing before and after photos of our projects because it helps our customers and potential customers truly grasp the scope of the transformation their homes can undergo. Sometimes, it can be tough to image just how different a space can look with good design and the right materials. Today, we decided to dig back in our photo archives to show a before and after design from a few years back: it was one of the largest suburban Boston home renovation projects we've done, and encompassed the entire property. Take a tour of this dramatic transformation, below. The downstairs bathroom: The before shots of this space show just how dark, cramped, and dated the bathroom was. From their new bathroom, the homeowners wanted something contemporary, soothing, and spa-like.
To bring the space up to date the entire bathroom was gutted, and we added a frameless shower, sleek vanity with clean lines, and oversized, clay colored tile.
The Kitchen Like the bathroom, the kitchen of the home showed years of wear and felt old and tired. Appliances needed upgrading, and the room badly needed better lighting.
The solution? Modern hardwood cabinetry, a brand-new oversized window, an expansive tile backsplash, and built-in storage for the family's many appliances.
The Master Bath The master bath underwent one of the home's biggest updates. Not only was it completely gutted to remove a faux-tile shower surround and pink tub, but expanded to create an oasis for the busy homeowners.
After: the space is massive, with a soaking tub overlooking the home's beautifully landscaped yard, a framless spa shower, and a fireplace.
The Family Room The homeowners were faced with a sorely outdated family room -- green carpet and textured ceilings felt trapped in a different decade. They also wanted a built-in media solution for family movie nights and an updated fireplace.
Carpet was stripped, floors were refinished, and the television and fireplace were built into one wall to create a singular focal point and gathering spot in the room.
The renovation was certainly a huge undertaking for the family, but as you can see, the results were completely worth it! Want to see more? Visit us on Houzz to see additional after shots from the kitchen and master bathroom.
