White and Gray Kitchen Design Inspiration
Each year, there are certain finishes, materials, silhouettes and color schemes that seem to comprise the majority of our work. This year, the standout in kitchen design trends has to be a palette of white and gray. The look is fresh, bright, and timeless, but it's also surprisingly versatile, and can be easily tailored to suit any style. Here's a look at five white and gray kitchen designs we've done recently, each which has its own stylish spin.
Clean & Modern
This mostly-white and kitchen features classic, Shaker-style cabinetry, sleek chrome hardware, cutting-edge appliances, and an on-trend light gray subway tile backsplash. One of our favorite features of the design is the peninsula, which has white drawers on one side, and smoke-gray paneling on the other.
Grounded in Gray
This next space also incorporates gray tones a little more heavily throughout the cabinetry, with a charcoal colored kitchen island at the center, and a wall of pantry-style closets at one end. The marble countertops also have prominent gray veining, which ties the color scheme together. Overall, the simple silhouettes and fixtures give the design a modern feel.
Traditional Beauty
See how subtle tweaks can make a big difference? While this kitchen design has similar white Shaker-style cabinetry and a dark gray island like the previous two examples, the addition of window-pane cabinet fronts, a classic-style range hood and hardware, and a farmhouse sink give the room a more traditional feel.
Industrial Touches
Again, this space shows the difference is in the details. The homeowner here preferred slightly heavier silhouettes and industrial touches, which we incorporated through the cup-style drawer pulls, factory-inspired lighting, and detailed millwork on the island.
Sleek and Modern
On the completely other end of the style spectrum is this contemporary kitchen designer for a Boston high-rise building. The flat-front cabinetry is done in a combination of dark-gray wood tones and pale gray lacquer, while charcoal gray appliances and pearlized white tiles add flair to the color scheme.
